Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Music at First United Methodist Church – San Marcos

Traditional Music at First United Methodist Church – San Marcos

The music at FUMCSM is offered for the glory of God and is meant to be a spiritual enhancement for a more meaningful worship experience.  There are many opportunities for musicians at our church.

The Chancel Choir, the adult choir under the direction of Jody Bagley, is always looking for new members who would be willing to rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 and perform on Sunday mornings at the 11:00 service.  Regular attendance is encouraged but not mandatory!

Sounds of Celebration, the Children’s Choir under the direction of Karen Gish, meets on Wednesday afternoons from 5:30-6:30 in the sanctuary and performs several times a year.  New members are welcome in this group, as well.

The Handbell Group, under the direction of Frances Breihan, rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 and performs once a month for the traditional services.

If you would like to participate in any of these groups or would like your musical talents to be featured, please, contact Jody Bagley, jbagley001@austin.rr.com.
