The Ministry of MDOCP

Our Mission…

Because we believe that all children are gifts from God, our mission is to minister to their families by providing a quality part-time program which offers opportunities for spiritual, social, and academic growth.

Our Philosophy…

MDOCP focuses on learning in a pre-school environment through guided play and planned lessons. We prepare children for school through a variety of educational experiences and choices. We acknowledge God's love for children and encourage children to explore their relationship with God. We provide each child with a warm and caring environment that encourages all facets of learning, growth, and development.

Our Goals…

In our classrooms, our teachers strive to meet the following goals for our children:

¨      Nurture the development of positive self esteem.

¨      Enhance curiosity, creativity, and imagination which will promote a lifelong love for learning.

¨      Encourage interactions with others in a mutually trusting and respectful way.

¨      Increase understanding of the world through hands-on exploration and experimentation.

¨      Foster communication skills including spoken language as well as reading readiness.

¨      Provide opportunities to aquire and refine basic physical skills (gross and fine motor).

¨      Expand awareness of good health and safety practices.

¨      Create an understanding of God’s love and promote Christian values.

Our History…

Established in 1986 as a simple baby sitting service, Mother’s Day Out has a long tradition of providing loving care to families in San Marcos and the surrounding area.

As the program has grown, we have evolved into an excellent pre-kindergarten program as well as a fun place for infants and toddlers to grow and learn. We developed a school-wide age appropriate curriculum that incorporates weekly chapel and fine arts. And we have earned a reputation for helping children have a smooth transition into school through our pre-reading activities. Our name changed with our program as we added the words Christian Preschool to our name.

Our Teachers…

MDOCP has an experienced, educated, and professional staff. We are proud that many of our teachers have a Bachelor’s degree in education.

Our Guidelines…

MDOCP is licensed by the Texas State Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and operates at all times in accordance with the Texas Minimum Standards and Guidelines for child care facilities. Furthermore, MDOCP strives to exceed these minimum standards to provide an excellent environment for children!
