Have you been praying about a Sunday School class? Where else can you go for great fellowship, growth in your faith, know God better and feel good about it all in one package? The following is a list of our Sunday School classes and what they are studying about this new year:
Epworth class meet in room 127 and is studying the Cokesbury Adult Bible Studies, which has an awesome guide. The class was formed in the early 1980's and is multi-generational.
Bereans meet in the Pastor’s Library and is studying the book of Luke. This class is a in depth Bible based class and has committed to studying all the books of the Bible beginning with the New Testament.
Crusaders meet in 125 and is studying the “The Thirteen Apostles” by J. Ellsworth Kalas. This study will journey through the lives of each apostle as a servant in ministry, a human being, and an individual. For more information contact Darlyne Lowman.
Jack Hughes meet in room 130 and are covering the “10 Things I Wish Jesus Had Never Said”. This spontaneous group has several leaders who take turns each Sunday leading. Therefore, leads to a wide variety of ideas and angles to the Christian faith. The contact person is Doug Ragsdale.
One in the Spirit meet in room 128 and is studying Philippians and Colossians. This particular class is a Bible based class and studies each book in the New Testament using materials that further explain the scriptures so that it is more understandable. The contact person is Athena Reiche.
Storming Heaven’s Gates meet in room 207 and is studying “Fresh Wind Fresh Spirit” by Pastor Jim Symbala. This class is very dedicated to prayer and spends a lot of time in prayer, including praying for our pastors. The contact person is Linda Palermo.
Family and Fellowship meet in room 129 and focuses on family and living according to God’s plan and how he intended for us to live. The class is open to anyone, for their vision is to fellowship together as a family. The contact person is Paul Mayhew.
The Upper Room meet in room 126 and studies books of a wide variety of authors including Max Lucado, Fred Craddock and Dan Brown. They also share responsibilities for leading, which creates a variety of teaching styles and angles. The contact person is Gwen Burton.
The J.O.Y. Class (Jesus, Others and Yourself) meet in Lowman Chapel and studies the Adult Bible Series curriculum from Cokesbury. The class started in 1945 and is still going strong. They share responsibilities for leadership each Sunday. The contact person is Bobby Gill.
The College Class meet in the storefront area facing Hopkins Street and are currently studying a variety of topics. This class is lead by both a college student and a college graduate, as they share responsibilities.
